Real-life Nairn County F.C. are a senior football club who currently play in the Highland Football League.
They were founded in 1909 and play at Station Park, Nairn.
1909 is the last recorded instance of Nairn County reforming as a football club. The following extract is taken from the book ‘The History of Nairn County FC’.
“A curious scenario seems to have arisen in the early years of the 20th century – Nairn County and Nairn Thistle appear to have swapped identities with monotonous regularity. No reports exist of the teams ever having been pitted against each other, indeed the records show that when one team was in the ascendency, the other disappeared from the scene.
The situation can be summed up as follows:-
NAIRN COUNTY F. C.: FOUNDED 1882 DISAPPEARED 1891
NAIRN THISTLE F. C.: FOUNDED 1893 DISAPPEARED 1901
NAIRN COUNTY F. C.: REFORMED 1901 (President: Wm Whitelaw) DISAPPEARED 1903
NAIRN THISTLE F. C.: REFORMED 1904 DISAPPEARED 1905
NAIRN THISTLE F. C.: REFORMED 1906 DISAPPEARED 1909 (President 1908: Wm Whitelaw)
NAIRN COUNTY F. C.: REFORMED 1909 (President: Wm Whitelaw)”
The team colours are yellow and black and go by the nickname of the Wee County.
Nairn County were reformed in 1909 and joined the Highland League in 1914, but due to the First World War didn't kick a ball until 1919. Their only league title was in the 1975–76 season, which they won after a play-off in extra time against Fraserburgh at Borough Briggs, Elgin.

Season 60:
Lee Elkins head hunted from CB to NAI in Nov 2025.
Lee J Elkins lives in Frome, Somerset.
Works as a Senior Lecturer in Photography at the University of the West of England and as Creative Director of The Lost Light Recording, a small photobook publishing company.
My hobbies include cinema, running and DJing (vinyl only).
Teams I support are, in football, Swindon Town, watching legends such as Jan Age Fjortoft and Johnny Moncur in their pomp.
I'm an avid American Football fan, I support the Rams and fell in love with them and the best running back ever to play the game Eric Dickerson.
I'm a rugby union fan and watch Bath and the mighty Finn Russell.
