Season 62
S61 Recap: A much better campaign than anyone expected after last season's disappointment. We comfortably secured a mid-table finish while successfully moving away from our dependence on Early Cross football. The squad showed better balance throughout the season and several young players stepped up. Promotion was never a realistic objective, but neither was relegation after a strong first half of the campaign. Most importantly, the club finally feels to be heading in the right direction again.

Season 61 proved that the rebuild is firmly underway. A comfortable mid-table finish, a positive goal difference and a healthy financial position provide an excellent platform for the future. While the starting eleven still trails several promotion contenders, the squad depth and overall strength compare favourably with many clubs in Division 2. With one of the younger squads in the league, continued development remains the priority. Promotion may still be an ambitious target, but another season of steady progress could see Deveronvale establish itself as a genuine contender rather than simply a competitive mid-table side.

The real Deveronvale were formed in 1938 and their first league campaign only lasted three games into the 1939-40 season before, as their official site says, war stopped play. Currently Deveronvale are in the Highland League, along with Huntly, Nairn County, Buckie Thistle and Fraserburgh and from which there is now possible promotion.
Update Season 62
Every offseason again I get the feeling Ajax is slowly turning things around. Let's hope this time it actually works out for a change.
Cruijff has been cleaning house (on pitch, off pitch and board) and rebuilding the club. I actually believe in the image of his father.
Glad to see Daley Blind returning once again. He will bring the necessary experience this young roster needs so badly. Caio Henrique seems to be a decent signing, Ter Stegen is nearly signed, while Ceballos, Vanat, Alvarez are still on the wishlist. And...very glad to see Veltman in Amsterdam again. For now he's just trying to stay fit, but hopefully he'll sign a contract :)
