After the relegation last season, it was of course not what we wanted, but sometimes you must take a step back to go forward again. So, Season 61 is all about the rebuild and making sure we come back stronger.
We started Season 60 with little hope, but after the mid-season aging hit, the team really dropped off. Now, in Division 3, the reality is clear: we have the lowest T11 in the league and the third-lowest T17. This tells you everything about where we stand.
The core is still there— Houliston, Dunbar, Dobbie—and Angus Gunn in goal is getting better every match. But the numbers do not lie: we need more quality and depth. The focus is on the youth and bringing in new, hungry players who can grow with the club.
The difference between our start T-17 (17.4) and T-11 (21.9) shows how thin the squad is.
This season, it is about balance: keep the skilled experience, but also give the young boys their chance.
We are not rushing. The plan is to build a team that can fight for promotion in the next few seasons.
For now, we take it match by match. The target? Play good football, develop the talent, and slowly but surely improve those numbers. It will not happen overnight, but if we do it right, the future looks better. Step by step, we get there. No illusions, just hard work.

Born and raised in Rotterdam, I’m a Feyenoord supporter at heart and a football fanatic through and through. Beyond the pitch, I’m a drummer, percussionist, and marimba/vibraphone player—music is as much a part of my life as football. My Spotify spans everything from Queen’s A Day at the Races to Verdi’s greatest hits, though you won’t find much house or rap there (with the odd exception, like Gangsta’s Paradise).
Since August 2024, I’ve balanced my studies with my passions: genealogy, cycling, hiking, and managing in the SESL. Over the years, I’ve taken the reins at EST, DEE, KIL, and MOT, and since Season 48, I’ve been at the helm of Queen of the South.
