SEASON 60 UPDATE
Real Life
East Stirlingshire was formed in 1881 and have been a bedrock of the Scottish Footballing fraternity ever since. Incredibly the club only appointed their first manager in 1966, up until that time the Board of Directors made all key decisions. The Club's most famous manager is the great Sir Alex Ferguson, who took on the Shire in his first ever managerial position.

Tyron Barnard took over EST in Season 29. Now 31 seasons later he has overseen 57% of all EST games in history having surpassed his 1200 games in season 59. The long serving manager has had highlights in taking EST to D1 for the first time but needs to revitalise his approach other than just beating ALB on a regular basis.

I’m a South African Chartered Accountant, working full-time for a company based in Bermuda while living in South Africa. Alongside my professional career, I’m also a commentator for the Federation of International Hockey (FIH), and I recently reached the milestone of my 200th international test cap behind the mic.
I’m a massive sports fan, with Arsenal and the Springboks holding a special place at the top of my list.
Over the years, I’ve built a reputation as a sports commentator and content creator through my work with Rayder Media. I’ve been fortunate to be part of professional streaming projects, live commentary, and even award-winning podcasts. I enjoy bringing creativity into branding, marketing, and storytelling, always looking for ways to connect fans, athletes, and sponsors in meaningful ways.
Community is something I care deeply about. Whether it’s through grassroots hockey initiatives, investing time in youth development, or building the fun and innovative Rayder Golf school, I try to blend professionalism with creativity. My hope is always to add value and make a positive difference for the people and communities I’m involved with.
