Season 56: This season we need to train up our many age 1s to give us a chance of promotion. Defence is again stable but attack needs some punch.

SEASON 56 Preview
First of all a Season 55 Review
A complete mess of a season, starting badly and getting worse as we moved on. Problem was the forward line all aged badly and although the defence and midfield competed - we couldn't score goals. We finished 16th so we were the strongest team in the division (holding everybody else up), although we did have moments, such as beating Celtic 1-0 and drawing 0-0 which effectively ended their title challenge. We went out in the 2nd round of the CECIL< Cup (we got a dye in the 1st round, being in the 1st division, but Annan Athletic saw us off 1-1 and 2-0. The SESL Cup was better with 4 wins and a draw to top our section - not the hardest one to top but it did give tghe lads a morale boost. We won through to the last 16 and went out on penalties unluckily.
Season 56 Our Bosman is going to be midfielder John McGinn age 1/14 who will be transferred to St Mirren immediately for TPs. We already have 4 age 1 players and another one arriving from Kilmarnock soon after the season starts. All will be trained up to be around 1/27s by MSA. We will need them as our starting T11 is around 12th in the 2nd division, so relegatiion looks on even at this stage. Could do with an older high SL forward to be there until the 2 x age 1/17s become of age. Interesting season coming up - looking forward to it.
Season 56 Update: 13 months into our new abode and loving it. Unfortunatly a rush of blood (literally) has meant a diagnosis of prostate cancer, which hopefully with treatment will still give me more time to try for a Cup. Getting less mobile now so having everything nearby is good. Still keeping my Chairmanship and Secretary positions at the on site Social Club, but last week I gave up the Presidency and Match Secretary positions at my bowling Club. I will continue to play but it will save me meetings and decision making after around 35 years of Committee work. (I did get my Life membership last AGM so at least In can play for free.. :-))
I was born in Edinburgh and do support Hibs, but am more an armchair supporter now. I love watching football in the Bundesliga and Lique 1 - less brutal than the Greed is Good League, and far more entertaining than the awful league that is the SPFL. Rangers and Celtic toss for being the Champions, and the rest try to beat the rest to be 3rd, looking for any crumbs from the games they play against the Old (boring) Firm. I also like College American football, NFL and baseball.
