East Fife are all set for the new season and welcome two veterans to the club
Sammy Stewart (1 May 1920 – 1995) played for East Fife during a successful period, making 392 appearances between 1938 and 1961 during which time the Fifers won the Scottish League Cup three times. Stewart scored two goals for the club. One came on his debut against East Stirlingshire on 27 August 1938 at Bayview after 4 minutes. The second was against the same club, again at Bayview, on 6 April 1960. A gap of 21 years and 223 days.
Davie Clarke (born 6 June 1950) played for us for his whole career, making over 500 league appearances. He holds the club record for most appearances, with 627 in all competitions. Clarke has also managed East Fife, in two different spells.
We trust that Sammy and Davie will relive their former glories in their return to the club!
