Falkirk crashed out of the Cecil Cup at the quarterfinal stage. The damage was done in the first leg at home against Cove Rangers. We didn't play that badly but couldn't convert against their high class keeper. On the other hand we conceded four and that was that. The away leg was played using stall and we lost three nil, seven nil on aggregate. Fair play to Cove and Steve they deserved it. Our league form continues to be poor. A four one away defeat at East Stirlingshire, after we took an early lead. Then a home game with bottom team Berwick and a very fortunate one nil victory, thanks to our keeper Gunn. Hopefully we can start picking up some decent results.
Falkirk made it into the quarterfinals of the Cecil cup this week but their league results have been greatly effected. We started last weekend with a trip to Stirling and came away with a point after the match finished one apiece thanks to a Ferguson equaliser. Then a home game against high flying Montrose with the match this time finishing goalless thanks to our keeper Gunn. The two points left us twelve, closer to bottom than top. We then had the return game with Hearts at home in the Cecil cup. We expected them to play a weakened team being six one behind from the first leg but we couldn't take that chance and played a strong lineup. We won easily five nil, to progress eleven one on aggregate, who would have thought it. Now for Cove Rangers in the quarterfinals, another division 3 team but they are currently second.
