Thistle knew that the gap below them was too great for FAL to close and both matches could have been rest games but the first was at home to local rivals RAN. Anyone from Glasgow knows that you do NOT want to go to work on Monday morning having been beaten another Glasgow team. There is always that one guy who has to say something. Well I didn't have to wait until Monday. Saturday night I met a friend who had just returned from Ibrox and immediately told me that he had just been watching a 'real' team. I just smiled and told him Thistle had just leathered his mob in SESL. He looked confused but I was happy. Get it right round ye!

Now, reality is that the Jags would be well advised to regain some EL before the playoff game. Not absolutely necessary but advised. So it was that the second team went to STI and suffered a narrow but expected defeat. No issues.

Even with enough EL to go the distance, BER have a similar T11 and so the fight for Division 2 survival will be close. Thistle have the better shot stopper but with a top DF suspended it means the Jags are likely to face more shots. Top game for both sets of fans and the neutrals.
