    About The New Saints

Known as Sporting fans, until season 10, and Welsh Dragons from season 11 to 18 ,from 18 onwards The New Saints

    Season 45

Big rebuild required this season starting at the back where we need to strengthen the defence ,Ferran Torres will Captain the side this season.

We bring in DF Hugo Ekitike from Eintract Frankfurt and UT Sion Bradley from Caenarfon Town, and GK Connor Robert's from Aberystwyth. We start the league with a T11 of 21.2(13th in division) and a T17 of 18.5(12th in division),so another really tough season ahead to survive in division 1.Josh Park during the close season went to the goalkeeping academy and has now taken up the role of our no 1 keeper. We hope this is a positive move to our survival in division 1.Transfer activity saw DF Mark Bosnich and MF Ricado Gallego arrive from ORA and GK Vince Gallagher and DF Hugo Ekitike  go across, part of the rebuild for division 2 which we have started as the drop seems inevitable. We have also brought in experienced DF Matthew Olosunde from Preston North end who has represented the USA and MF Rory Holden from Port Vale ,this hopefully will give us a platform to rebuild from.Well it was not to be and we finished 14th and bottom, winning 3 ,drawing 6 and losing 17 ,scoring 20 conceding 59 and only amassing 15 points. We had good cup runs getting to the quarter finals of the SFLSL cup where we went down 0-3 to FC Blades  and got to the Dowson plate final where we lost to AC Sapone 2-3,so down to division 2 and rebuild next season.

    Season 46

Division 2 this season and a rebuild to begin so we are not looking for any silverware or promotion this season but stability is our target and building a stronger defence. We bring in SD Danny Davies from Connahs Quay Nomads,FW Aramide Oteh from Walsall and MF Ben Clark from Caernarfon. Early transfer activity as Brad Young wanted 1st division football and he went to ORA in exchange for FW Asier Villalibre, who we hope will settle in quickly as our main talisman.

We start the season with a T11 of 21.8(2nd in division) and a T17 of 19 .6(2nd in division) so hopeful of a good season.

We brought in SD Harrison McGahey from Bala Town and FW Bein Ghlas and UT Marco's Llorente from ORA in exchange for UT Ryan Brobbel and MF Sergej Savic.

We ended the season with a T11 of 26.1(1st in division) and a T17 of 22.9(1st in division) so a good team building season. We had a poor SFLSL cup as we failed to get out of the group stage ,but had a good Dowson plate run getting to the final but losing 2-0 to Andy's Spurs.

Well we have only gone and won division 2,we won 15,drew 7,lost 4 ,scoring 57 conceding 16 amassing 52 points, what a season as we were rebuilding ,but if the squad is strong enough they are capable of anything. Back in the big time of division 1.

    Season 47

    So back in division 1

We bring in SW Joshua Daniel's from Glenavon in Ireland,DF Daniel William's from Swansea City and Kenyan  MF Adam Wilson from Newcastle United ,we hope they settle in quickly and develop as planned. Early activity in the transfer market as we get experienced WG Hard Nut Biker fron OPT to boost our attacking options. We start the season with a T11 of 22.6(8th in division) and a T17 of 20 .4 (joint 5th in division) so its gonna be a hard season ahead.Mark Bosnich will again Captain the side this season. In the transfer market we traded SD Danny Davies to ORA in exchange for UT Ryan Brobbel who was with us previously.

We survive our 1st season back in division 1 as we finish 8th,winning 10,drawing 5,losing 11,scoring 45 and conceding 39 amassing 35 points, our season was hindered by injuries to some of our top players especially the front line, hopefully next season SFLSL will be kinder to us.

Most matches played was Joshua Daniel's with 25, most minutes Daniel Williams with 1700,bad boys with 14 DP'S were Matthew Olosunde and Joshua Daniel's, top goalscorer with 11 was Bein Ghlas and most MOM's was Josh Park with 5.

Here's looking forward to another successful season in division 1.

    Coach's Bio: Rob Lye

    Updated September 2025

-HI Im 62 living in west felton a small village just outside Oswestry in Shropshire, with my other half Sharon and my daughters Alix and Beth.Been a lifelong Pirates supporter (Bristol Rovers ) and now back in the 1st   division ,never stop supporting them even in the bad times, also a New Saints fan  my local club in the Dafabet welsh league always go to watch  them when I can winning the league and league cup again and the FA cup  this  season, in champions league again  this year making history for the welsh,.In the league we have had a poor start losing 2 of our 1st 5 matches ,after last season going undefeated came as a bit off a shock ,but it was conceding late which was our undoing. In the Welsh FA  cup we have just  beaten Llangollen 16-0 to equal the record .

Also  manager  of Austin FC in division 1 OASL which we have just won, and San Antonio Spurs  in division 4 again after being relegated, and  Ross County in division 3 of  SESL after getting relegated last season but it will be a season of rebuild ,love the game and always looking to build a side but selling players to help teams on their way when cash is tight.

An avid sea angler youre more than likely to find me on a beach at the weekend ,just love the peace and tranquility. Now taken up coarse fishing again to go out with mates and show them how  just go in do the job and come home giving me time to play fantasy football.

Working now for Griffiths Family Farms as a stock man rearing chickens.
