Season 47 Review - Season 48 Preview
I wasn't here last season but guessing the team wasn't very motivated and relegation arrived easily. We finished low in the 1st division so start season 48 in the lower division. The SFLSL Cup was the team's only "success" as we finished in 4th place with 4 wins, 2draws and 3 losses for a 4th place finish. The remaining cup - Dowson Plate -was a success in that the Blades won it - even though the team was rated 17th. So some good came out of the cups last season. This coming season we will be playing in the Dowson Cup for real.
With the initial 2 draft choices being done for me I am trying to put players into positions to give me a balanced squad and I suspect this season will be a mid table at best - we won't be bottom. Moving Russell up to keeper to be trained will cost us points but has to happen as there wasn't a worthwhile 2nd keeper on the books.

Season 48 Update: Not at 80 yet (79 on Hogmanay this year), Still have 9 (of 32) hormone injections to go - not much fun there, trust me - for my prostate cancer. Probably going to stay at Vice Chairman at the AGM of my local Social Club, and just ending another season acting as Match Secretary at the bowling club. Also Secretary of my local Social Club. Back from a Norwegian cruise, and trips to Inverness and Wales - and a show in Perth (4 Seasons). Accepted I believe as Olmec's oldest player, but maybe someone else is as keen on the game as myself. Keen does not make me good, but I compete and take part in most activities to do with Olmec. Have played (and run) OASL after Dave Dowson's passing. Now on a hospital list for a hip replacement - not a lot of fun getting older. Don't copy me!!
My partner, Karin, and my daughter Jill, along with her son Adam and their dog Gino, constitute my immediate family. I still, when time permits, watch sports and westerns/war films, and as much older comedy, not bothered by these woke idiots nowadays.
I love reading historical fiction,play poker, computer chess, and involve myself with a computer medieval war game and a couple more soccer online games.
