Review: The inevitable happened. We are send back to the second division for a rebuild. Although the foundation was good, we missed some solid middle aged players, mainly defensive, to carry this team out of the relagation zone. When the drop was imminent we offloaded some aging players to secure funds to rejuvinate.

Expectations: We have one goal; rebuild! We need to build a solid team now to make an attempt for regular to flight football. We brought in two age 0 players and an age 1 alongside the two age 1 players already on our roster. Daley Blind, a hot prospect for the sweeper position, Hatem Trabelsi, a defender with a bright future and Michael Reiziger, slightly less potential but strong leadership skills. Van de Sar, Bogarde, Oliseh, Bergkamp, Cruijff and Kluivert will form the foundation for this season.
Season 49 update
Amsterdam is still burning. Jordi Cruijff as DoF might, because of his name, open up some doors here and there, but unless there will be a major overhaul of the first team I don't see how Ajax will climb out of this whole. Coaches like Slot, Xavi and even Pep are circling the Dutch media which makes me wonder if journalism just took a turn for the worst or that Cruijff is actually aiming for the moon. Also players like Ceballos, Tadic, Blind and Isco are mentioned in every other article. We'll see.
