TNS weekend

We started the weekend with an away game at Carl's Lisburn city, a really tough side to get a result against, they opted for a 4-2-4 normal as we went for a 5-3-2 normal, we started the quicker and opened the scoring on 10 minutes when Torres fired home 0-1,23 minutes and Lisburn levelled things up when Heath slotted in 1-1,we pushed on and on 30 minutes Holden drilled home from range 1-2,half time came and subs on both sides going for it and on 70 minutes McIlroy fired home 2-2,we were outplayed for periods and outshot 8 to 3 but Park in our goal was in outstanding form with 6 saves, points shared.

Final game of our season and home to Sergei's Orgullo, another real quality side who are always up there fighting for silverware, we opted for a 5-3-2 normal as they went for a 4-2-4 early ball, they started quickly and opened the scoring on 17 minutes when Ghlas fired home 0-1,defences then stood firm till half time, 2nd half and subs on and we started quickly and on 46 minutes Savic fired home 1-1,67 minutes and Ghlas fired home his 2nd 1-2 and on 80 minutes Traore headed home 1-3,we pulled one back on 89 minutes when Brobbel drilled home 2-3 ,but all too little too late as we just edged the shot count 9 to 8 ,well played Sergei.

So it has been a season to forget as we finish bottom of the 1st division and slip down to division 2 and will have to rebuild over the next few seasons.

Dowson plate final

After a torrid time in the league and looking like relegation is imminent we had made it through to the Dowson plate final and were up against Steve's AC Sapone who had beaten us well in the league this season.

We opted for a 4-3-3 normal with a little bit of aggression (hopefully not pushing the strict ref too far) as they went for a 4-2-4  normal, game on and both sides enjoying lots of possession, but they opened the scoring on 18 minutes when Milligan fired home 0-1,21 minutes and a deep cross saw an unmarked Armstrong power home his header 0-2,we pulled one back on 22 minutes when Young raced clear and slotted home 1-2,half time came and subs on ,both sides kept pushing on and on 66 minutes Armstrong fired home his 2nd 1-3,we kept trying but were finding it hard to break down a stubborn defence but pulled one back on 84 minutes when Holden slipped past everyone and slotted home 2-3,but it just was not enough, we edged the shot count 9 to 5 ,but Edith in their goal was in outstanding form with 6 saves, well played Steve.
