So after a pointless weekend we start on the SESL cup hoping for some better form.
We started up against Mark's St Johnstone, a very tough side full of quality, but hopefully not purring out their top T11,we opted for a 4-4-2 normal as they went for a 4-2-4 longball, game on and we started the quicker and opened the scoring on 3 minutes when Chilvers fired home 1-0,16 minutes and McTominay drilled home from range 2-0,21 minutes and Chilvers fired home his 2nd 3-0 in a very encouraging 1st half,2nd half subs on ,defences on top for a short time until Chilvers completed his hat trick on 63 minutes 4-0,St Johnstone pulled one back on 76 minutes when Rock fired home 4-1 but Chilvers drilled home his 4th on 85 minutes to seal the game 5-1,we outplayed and outshot them for a very valuable win, well played Mark.
Next we were up against Tyron's East Stirling, another really tough side to play against, they opted for a 4-2-4 normal as we went for a 4-4-2 normal, we again started the quicker and Fraser powered home his header on 7 minutes 0-1,17 minutes and he fired home his 2nd 0-2,34 minutes and East Stirling pulled one back when Gyokeres drilled home from the edge of the box 1-2 and on 41 minutes McTominay fired home from range 1-3,half time came and subs on ,defences on top for a good time until Duncan fired home on 74 minutes 1-4 and Fraser fired home on 80 minutes to seal the win 1-5 as we outplayed them for periods and outshot them 8 to 4,well played Tyron.
Next we were up against Derek's Dundee,a formidable side who had quality all over the field and had shown strong form in the last 2 seasons in division 1,they opted for a 4-3-3 normal as we went for a 4-4-2 normal, game on and both sides enjoying lots of possession early on but we opened the scoring on 27 minutes when Smith powered home his header at the back post 0-1,defences then took control till half time, 2nd half subs on and McTominay drilled home from range on 46 minutes 0-2,defences then took hold and closed out the game as we outplayed and them for periods and outshot them 11 to 2,well played Derek.
So 3 games in and unbeaten and on 9 points, time to rest some key players in our next match and blood our app GK.

We started the weekend with an away game at James Montrose, a quality side with lots of firepower up front, they opted for a 4-2-4 early ball as we went for a more defensive 5-3-2 normal, both sides started well and enjoyed lots of possession but we opened the scoring on 17 minutes when Grieves fired home 0-1,20 minutes and he fired home his 2nd 0-2,Montrose slowly played themselves back into the game and pulled one back on 27 minutes when Selzaron slotted home 1-2 and levelled it up on 36 minutes when top striker Ignamane fired home after some sustained pressure, half time came and subs on they pushed on and McCausland fired home on 50 minutes 3-2,after that it was a tale of defences as both stood firm, Ross in our goal in outstanding form with 6 saves but we were outplayed for periods and outshot 9 to 6 ,well played James.
Next we travelled to Roy's Stirling, never a happy hunting ground for us ,they opted for a 4-5-1 ball control as we went for a more defensive 5-3-2 normal, both sides started well and enjoyed lots of possession but they opened the scoring on 10 minutes when Lynley fired home 1-0 and on 32 minutes 2-0 when Macbeth slotted home, we slowly played ourselves back into the game and pulled one back on 33 minutes when Grieves fired home 2-1 and levelled things up on half time when McTominay drilled home 2-2,2nd half subs on and they started to dominate and control all possession as we could not keep the ball,48 minutes and Macbeth fired home his 2nd 3-2,53 minutes and Doyle raced through and slotted home 4-2,59 minutes and Nightingale slotted home 5-2,61 minutes and Lynley fired home his 2nd 6-2,63 minutes and Tango fired home 7-2 and on 69 minutes Macbeth completed his hat trick 8-2 as they totally outplayed us and outshot us 11 to 5 ,well played Roy we had no answers to these tactics.
So a pointless weekend sees us drop to 4th.
