There were 24 entrants for round eight of the Prediction Leauge and the average score was a bit low, 4.75. As ever, the draws (two of them) were difficult to forecast and Dundee United's win at Cowdenbeath also caught most people out. At the other end of the scale, everyone predicted the wins for Motherwell and Fraserbororgh, and these two matches attracted all but one of the banker selections. This week we have a lone winner, so it's 100k and congratulations to Malcolm at St. Mirren.
Stirling had an unusually mediocre round and their overall lead is cut to three points over Motherwell. It will still take something of a miracle to catch them, though.
We are hitting the point where you will be able to drop your worst score in the ninth round, which takes place next Saturday and features the Match 47, Division 2 fixtures. The entry form is on the Notebook.

My attempt to pick a tricky set of fixtures was not entirely successful as the 26 entrants averaged exactly 5.5. Andrew had a little grumble about my selections, and scored only five, which was one more than I managed. James Tucker's first entry of the season probably wasn't the proudest moment of his life, but at the other end of the scale three managers scored eight points in this double money round. Congratulations to Cameron at Arboath, Paul at Ayr and William at Edinburgh who each earn 67k for their clubs.
Roy extends his lead at the top and is now in a very commanding position.
